Purpose of the Role
The aim to provide Consumer Science related support to Mondelēz global legal entities, per service agreements. This includes the global chocolate category but may also include support to other regions as organization priorities dictate.
Within this role, you will contribute to projects within the Cadbury Dairy Milk, Chocolate Technology and Discovery programs. You will also work with line management support to plan the consumer learnings for projects as a fully engaged cross-functional partner interacting with RDQ stakeholders and professionals outside the company.
The role requires the jobholder to work under moderate supervision of manager to plan and conduct sensory and consumer research, whether that be through our trained sensory panels or through consumer research by commissioning market research agencies. The jobholder applies statistics to analyse data, draw conclusions and reports results. The jobholder begins to address increasing levels of complexity and is capable of integrating data from various sources. The jobholder must properly apply technical/practical training in completing assignments and deliver against commitments. The jobholder interacts with other CS team members, Developers, Marketing and Consumer Insight colleagues.
Partner with more experienced colleagues within the Consumer Science team as required, to deliver first-class project guidance.
The job Holder will participate in cross functional team meetings to understand business and technical objectives and develop the consumer learning plan, together with line manager and commercial partners, outlining all sensory and consumer research between project kick off and product launch.
Define and deliver the activities in the consumer learning plan to meet objectives, required standards and agreed timescales. Complete assignments to produce good quality/actionable data.
Lead vocabulary development sessions with the Mondelēz trained panel
Lead aspects of consumer research including both qualitative and quantitative research including agency briefing and linking of descriptive and consumer data into a cohesive story.
Analyse and interpret sensory and consumer research results together with recommendations which contribute to decision making. Produce technical reports in a business relevant manner with some guidance.
Work with colleagues and the Consumer Science management team to prioritise workload.
Look for opportunities to provide informal coaching and to share experience with more junior colleagues.
Contribute to CS Team goals by participating on teams where new methodologies and capability are evaluated, proposed and implemented.
Contribute to efficient and safe running of the sensory laboratory, including maintenance of the quality system, ensuring that procedures are followed properly and highest standards of work and environment, health and safety are maintained.
Ensure two-way communication between yourself and other team members.
Develop knowledge and expertise in relevant category areas.
Educated to at least degree level in a scientific subject and/or appropriate post graduate qualifications.
Some experience in Sensory and Consumer research tools and techniques for example consumer tools of preference mapping, drivers of liking, focus groups and 1-on-1 interviews and sensory research such as QDA © and discrimination testing. Skills will be obtained in these areas through on the job training.
Knowledge of statistical theory and its application to sensory/consumer research. Practical experience of application of statistical analysis including analysis of complex data sets.
