An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Mechanical Engineer to join our busy team on a permanent / fixed term basis. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will develop essential skills for the workplace as well as gaining specific knowledge and skills related to Repairs. You will gain experience and skills in working successfully as part of a team to deliver results as well as providing excellent customer service.
We are looking for a highly motivated person with extensive experience in Mechanical engineering and maintenance, delivering responsive repairs, providing a high quality and responsive customer focused service and ensuring value for money. History within housing would be a great benefit and also Northgate experience would be a bonus.
The post holder will be responsible for ensuring we provide a responsive and efficient service, through close liaison and contract management of our M&E contractors.
Reporting to the M&E Manager, you will:
Work with and develop our existing partnership with THH appointed contractors
Supervise contractors for repair/maintenance on site, monitor and report on progress;
Monitor the performance of contractors to ensure that works are completed in accordance with client requirements, through site meetings, site visits and supervision of works in progress;
Carry out pre and post inspections, recommend remedial and additional work, authorise jobs, provide quality assurance, process variations
Provide specifications for works or scheme designs required to repair/maintain housing stock;
Ensure all applicable IT systems are fully updated with works proposed, completed or cancelled, plus resulting inspections and provide accurate stock data upon the completion of all schemes;
Provide expert advice on Mechanical matters and undertake the full range of M&E duties.This includes a range of areas including Boilers, Boosted water, Cold water tanks, Dry risers, Fire Alarms and some others which has significant as well as major impact on the tenants and leaseholders properties, general public as well as finance;
Ensure full consultation and engagement with internal and external customers takes place before, during and after work, as required.
