As a Principal Consultant, you will work within our Technology Services team helping to deliver Urban and Inter-Urban Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS), Connected and Automated Vehicles (CAV), Smart Cities and Smart Motorway projects across the UK and internationally. The team provides services to diverse client base, from strategic advisory through to technical research, design and delivery related engineering services. The Technology Services team works closely with clients and partners, largely in the Transportation Sector, although this role will also support other sectors due to its specialist nature. As a Principal Consultant, you will be expected to lead and take ownership of design, development and technical delivery of projects as well as being a technology partner in multi-disciplinary teams to achieve enduring results. Duties and responsibilities include:
+ Providing specialist technical consultancy and design services for the development of projects and bids and subsequent delivery of technical work for ITS, smart cities, Mobility solutions, and other technology-related expertise.
+ Keeping up to date with new developments, technologies and skills helping you and AECOM push the boundaries of mobility through the existing and next-generation ITS, CAV and smart cities and exploring emerging opportunities within the Technology Services team.
+ Capturing client, stakeholder, system and user requirements, developing systems and services, system architecture, design documentation and technical reports.
+ Collaborating with AECOM colleagues and project partners to support the development and delivery of opportunities, bids and projects.
+ Conducting research, data analysis and proposing recommendations relative to the client, technology and the future.
+ Identifying and engaging strategic partners and industry to support opportunity development and raise yours and our technical and business profile.
+ Working experience in urban and/or inter-urban ITS, telecoms or ICT-related sector
+ Excellent working knowledge of ITS and/or technologies which provide a recognised contribution to Transportation
+ Previous work experience in system design, development and delivery of ITS, CAV or technologies which contribute to smart city solutions
+ Experience in leading and/or contributing to collaborative research and innovation activities involving multiple stakeholders
+ Experience of technology research and writing technical reports and papers
+ Good understanding of transport technology market demand
+ Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Electronics/Telecommunications/Computer Engineering or in an associated field.
+ Close to obtaining chartership or already an accomplished Chartered Engineer
