We are currently looking for a chartered Senior Mechanical Building Services Engineer to join our Newcaatle team.

Based in Newcastle and working as part of our North region covering Scotland, Northern Ireland and the North East of England, you will apply your engineering expertise to shape our projects as well as play an active role in all stages from feasibility through to completion across a number of sectors, including data centres, commercial, residential, education and energy. Working in an interdisciplinary environment and aim to design buildings that maximise value for our clients whilst minimising their environmental impact.
Playing a part in the ever-increasing digital transformation of our business, seeking new ways to increase our efficiency through automation and to offer new services to our clients through our integrated digital approach to design.
Liaising with clients, other design team members and contractors.
Mentoring junior Engineers and Technicians.
Being responsible for meeting agreed deadlines.
Operating in accordance with local quality assurance procedures.
Delivering high quality, innovative design and specification work, requiring thorough knowledge and experience of the full range of project delivery including site supervision and inspections.
Contributing to the development of good practice within discipline through involvement with skills networks and team process improvement initiatives.
Being generally office based but with opportunities for local, national and international short-term travel.
To achieve in this role, you should…
Be Degree qualified in Building Services or Mechanical Engineering, preferably Masters or equivalent.
Hold Charterered status through CIBSE, IMechE or other relevant body.
Have a wide knowledge of design of mechanical building systems including coordination, spatial planning and energy performance of buildings.
Ideally have experience in working in the data centre sector, although this is not essential.
Have sound working knowledge of common mechanical building services software (Hevacomp, Cymap, IES)
Have sound working knowledge of Revit MEP.
Have experience supervising and providing technical mentorship to Technicians.
Be able to prepare and produce external and internal correspondence (using Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel).
Be a team player with good organisational skills and proven success.
Have excellent communications skills, verbal and written.
Be disciplined and consistent approach to work.
Be able to work independently with minimum supervision.
Have the ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
Be willing to take on new challenges.
