Starting Salary: £33,797 - £39,152 per annum

The Application Services group maintains the comprehensive suite of applications that support vital services, workflow engines and customer-facing applications that support the Staff and Student experience at St Mary’s. The group is responsible for both tactical and strategic development of solutions in support of St Mary’s objectives and is focused on the development, implementation, integration, delivery and support of business application and systems solutions for the University. The group also provides 2nd and 3rd line applications support. The team is responsible for the quality of solutions and safeguards the transition of solutions into production by applying robust testing disciplines and effective configuration management.
There are 40 major corporate applications at St Mary’s, spanning finance system, HR, timetabling, student accommodation, CRM, student records, to name a few. There are future plans to develop, improve and expand the applications portfolio under the remit of the new Chief Information Officer.
The Application Services group will work with colleagues across IT Services, the Projects Office, Library Services, academic and professional services.
We are looking for a Business Applications Developer to join our team to provide technical management of St Mary’s corporate applications, (timetabling, room bookings, student accommodation, HR, Finance and reporting, etc.), and to understand business requirements and develop corporate applications in service of this. Successful applicants will have:
Strong analytical and problem solving skills;
Experience of application development and integration with the talent to adapt to various application setups and frameworks across the portfolio;
A keen willingness to learn new skills and develop as an individual within Application Services;
The ability to manage relationship with suppliers and vendors of business applications to maintain service levels and support
