Duties / Responsibilities (Including Objectives of the role):
Delivery for Functional Safety, supporting he Chief Engineer in implementing functional safety activities across the whole of Sports Car Engineering. This will include delivering functional safety roll out plan, acting as project authority for Functional Safety, identifying and allocating safety cases at vehicle, system and component level. Review and approval of all safety cases under ISO 26262 for vehicle program.
Collaborating with all technical divisions (Body, Chassis, Electrical, Infotainment etc.) to support Functional Safety activities in the business.
Support Functional Safety team as a technical expert resource.
Analyse and create project requirements, definitions and processes.
Assess needs, take initiative to determine solutions and develop project plans, effectively communicating timing and critical paths
Work with all Function Groups within engineering to support Functional Safety culture and ensure Functional Safety accountability, keeping Functional Safety deliverables on target.
Keep up to date with industry standards, legal requirements, liability cases and future Functional Safety developments.
Engineering decisions shall be based on business direction to conduct the Functional Safety developments to the cutting edge of technology.
Qualifications and Experience (Essential & Desirable criteria)
Suitably competent, with significant technical experiences in Engineering, Product development and/ or project management
Strong experience within a Functional Safety Management capacity
Leading on Functional Safety roll out on a vehicle level within Automotive OEM
Significant experience with ISO26262
Project Management experience with a track record of delivery
Ability to influence and change thought processes
Excellent knowledge of system architecture (understanding of vehicle system electrical, software and hardware)
Quality process development
Create and support delivery of Functional Safety strategic plan for the business to implement cultural, technical and organisational changes in line with safety standards (ISO 26262, IEC 61508, …).
Observe and measure project performance against milestones and targets.
Identify, coordinate, engage with external suppliers and supplier activities related to the project.
