The Subway has been modernised twice in its history with the previous modernisation taking place in the late 1970s. We are currently undertaking a £288m transformational project which will result in the Subway being one of the most advanced systems in Europe. In 2018 at InnoTrans, Stadler (part of our joint venture delivery contractor ANSTA) unveiled the first new Subway train, the first of which have now started to arrive in Glasgow and the work on the Subway Modernisation continues at pace. About the Role
We are seeking to recruit a Maintenance Supervisor who will be responsible for supervising a multi-disciplinary maintenance team that focuses on service delivery whilst ensuring safe, timeous and satisfactory completion of planned and reactive maintenance activities for a wide range of Subway assets.
You will also work with external and internal stakeholders including Engineering, Projects and Subway Operations on service delivery and the modernisation project ensuring compliance and safe maintenance procedures are always adhered to whilst continually looking to improve processes and adopt good working practices.
The successful candidate will be a highly motivated, capable, reliable and resilient individual with supervisory management skills and experienced in planning and delivering maintenance activities in a safety critical environment leading multi-disciplinary maintenance teams.
You will be a Time Served Maintenance Engineer in a recognised electrical/mechanical engineering discipline. You will have the ability to work collaboratively with internal clients and other corporate services. Your good planning and problem-solving skills will be needed as you work with others to plan and complete maintenance activity as well as to react to changing priorities in an operational environment.
Having sound influencing and communication skills are important when working with internal and external stakeholders to ensure proactive and planned maintenance of our legacy and new systems as we move forward.

You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, working 38 hours per week on average on a 5-week rotating shift pattern that includes some weekend and nightshift working. You will be based at our Broomloan Depot in Govan, Glasgow.
