The Transport and Infrastructure (T&I) Water team in WSP are seeking Senior and Principal Drainage Engineers to lead the provision of Highways and Rail drainage services for WSP within our Leeds office.
As part of the growing T&I national water team in a typical week you will be providing support both locally within Manchester and around the country, helping to deliver highway and rail projects both nationally and internationally. Our projects range in size from smaller local authority development to large scale national projects including those delivered by Highways England, Network Rail and HS2. We also lead the provision of airport drainage services within WSP working on schemes globally.
About the team
As well as leading the drainage design for all key WSP transport and infrastructure projects, our national team also leads the wider Water Environment provision for the transport and infrastructure sector. The successful candidates will therefore be working alongside colleagues with leading skills in hydrology, river engineering, WFD and tidal engineering amongst others.
The T&I water team has a team-based ethos, encouraging learning and mentoring in a supportive environment to deliver our promises both to our teams and our clients. We support life-long learning through both ICE and CIWEM career development.
Our team is proud to have an excellent track record supporting equality in the workplace. We have a near 0% gender pay gap and an excellent gender balance ratio. As an EDI supportive team, we are committed to finding and supporting a candidate who can succeed in this position and we support flexible and part-time working for the right individual whose ambitions align with our values and goals.
Is this right for you?
If our team sounds like one you would like to join, we are open to having a conversation even if this role doesn’t quite fit your skills or your current level of experience. We are looking for talented people to help us build a better world with a better workplace.

As well as rewarding you with competitive pay, WSP offers standard benefits including a 37.5 hour working week, 25 days annual leave, pension schemes, life assurance, personal accident cover and paid professional subscriptions, and some not so standard benefits as part of our flexible benefits scheme – so if you would like to hop on a new bike (cycle to work scheme) or thrill the family with your Lego building skills (Discount at Legoland Windsor) – WSP can help!
