The Ridge Civil Engineering team has particular expertise in highways design for roads, pavements, bridges, Section 278 Agreements and in earthworks engineering, cut and fill assessments, remediation, underground services, flood alleviation, sustainable drainage systems, pumping stations, sewerage and external works.
Role and Responsibilities:
As a Civil Engineer based at our offices in Oxford covering a wide range of disciplines in property and construction, you will be responsible for providing a wide range of civil engineering services under the direction of the Team Manager, including the following:-
Producing highways and drainage designs relating to medium to large development infrastructure projects
Produce flood risk assessments (FRA’s) and Drainage strategies
Supervise CAD Technicians
Represent the company at external meetings with clients and fellow professionals
Be responsible for delivering work to a fee agreed with a Project Manager
Project profitability (monitoring / planning of costs and budgets)
Prepare client / project proposals
Assist in negotiating fee proposals and requesting additional fees
Construct project teams from internal and external resources.
Procure project resources
Agree design philosophy / design fundamentals
Experience and Skills Required:
Experience in a similar role, ideally within a private practice
Good understanding of section 38, 278 and 104 agreements – desirable
A competent user of Windes Microdrainage
Experience in drainage (foul and surface) and minor road way design
