As an Engineering Technical Assistant, you'll be working in a team environment alongside Engineers, Hydraulic Modellers and Asset Planners in the delivery of water, wastewater and/or drainage infrastructure projects.
Your role will be to support the development of robust engineering solutions at feasibility, outline and detail stages for design and asset management projects. Your responsibilities will include producing accurate and efficient outputs for internal and external Clients such as Water Companies and Public Authorities.

WSP will support your development both in terms of academic technical qualifications and in working towards professional recognition with an appropriate Institution. If you do choose to pursue a qualification with ICE, IEI, CIWEM or IoW, we’ll provide a technical mentor to help you on your journey.
A typical week would include:
Unndertaking tasks within an engineering environment that may include scheme investigation; data collection and analysis; feasibility and outline design; detailed design; site attendance, inspection and supervision.
Under supervision, assisting in the production of designs/engineering solutions in accordance with approved procedures and systems.
Assisting in the preparation and production of drawings and documents using specialist software in which you will develop experience; including AutoCAD, MapInfo etc.
We'd love to hear from you if you have:
A full UK or Irish Driving License is advantageous.
Good presentation, written and verbal communication skills in English.
Good IT skills are paramount (in particular MS Office), as well as the ability to learn and use bespoke software.
Relevant qualifications preferably in an engineering discipline and as a minimum, five GCSEs grade C / Level 5 or above which must include English, Maths and Science with at least a grade B / Level 6 in Maths.
An understanding of delivering water, wastewater and/or drainage projects would be an advantage.
