Subsea Pipeline Engineer - (1909823)
Perform FEED, Studies, and detailed design engineering, analysis and calculations on more complex and demanding engineering tasks. Apply knowledge and skills to complete varied assignments . Prepare clear and accurate detailed design calculations and analyses including design reports and procedures. Prioritize and organize own work to meet deadlines. Focus on completing work within budgets. Clearly communicate and explain information in straightforward engineering activities.
Must have familiarity with main analysis stages. Knowledge of HTHP analysis would be an advantage. Work would include identification of tailored solutions for efficiency and economy of installation so candidate should have an aptitude for practicality.
Candidate must have demonstrable ability to communicate via presentations and clear concise reports.
Gain familiarity with the project scope of work, specifications, schedule and all inter-discipline requirements; including identifying concerns as early as practicable.
Recognize changes to scope and notify the Discipline Lead Engineer.
Interface with other departments to obtain input for Discipline designs and drawings.
Provide required bid inputs as directed.
Assist procurement personnel in procuring discipline equipment, materials and services.
Review MTOs for requisitions
Check drawings .
Check engineering performed by others within Discipline.
Review vendor and subcontractor submittals, checking for compliance with project specifications and providing comments as necessary.
Perform design verification through single-discipline check and assist with inter-discipline checks (IDC).
Prepare the following for pipelines and their components :
Material specifications and datasheets.
Pipeline design and installation analyses.
Pipeline reports and installation manuals.
Perform the following designs, analyses and evaluations for pipelines and their components:
Wall thickness designs
On-bottom stability analyses
Pipeline cathodic protection designs
Pipeline expansion and rigid riser stress analyses using finite element analysis (FEA) tools
Route selection designs
Bottom roughness evaluations
Crossing support designs
Shore approach designs
Pipeline local and global buckling mitigation designs
Pipeline seismic analyses
3+ yrs in oil and gas with major contractor or consultant predominantly performing detail design of offshorepipelines, ideally including specific experience in deep water (>500m).
Knowledge of standard analytical tools, with ABAQUS and PYTHON knowledge advantageous.
Bachelor Degree in Civil, Structural, Mechanical, or Marine Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering; or Naval Architecture
