This role will be part of an industry leading Engineering team that can create the intelligent client Thames Water needs to be able to achieve its AMP7 ambitions and beyond. The role will provide the expertise needed to:
Create high-quality detailed technical drawings and plans based on designs supplied by engineers and make modifications to existing drawings.
Utilise a variety of CAD software to create designs in 2D and 3D models as required.
Liaise with engineers to understand their design requirements.
Provide accurate, detailed and to scale drawings.
Conduct site visits and surveys when required.
Maintain accurate records.
Working in a collaborative team, key areas of accountability will include:
Provide the drawings required to support Project Definition Briefs.
Ensure drawings are compliant with industry and H&S standards and protocols as well as Thames water SPD A14 standards.
Understanding of Building Information Modelling BIM requirements and ensure all drawings produced are compliant with BIM Level 2.
Support the establishment of a Centre of Excellence for Engineering.
To be successful, you will have the following skills and experience:
Bentley Microstation or AutoCad expert level.
Engineering degree or other appropriate higher-level technical qualification (BTEC HND, HNC) with previous experience in CAD in one or more water utility infrastructure, water/wastewater treatment works.
Good communication skills both internally and externally.
Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team and collaborate with colleagues.
Organisation and time management to complete work to project deadlines.
A flexible approach to decision making to make changes to drawings at short notice.
A passion of continuous professional development and active approach to driving diversity within Engineering in Thames Water.
