This position is working for one of the largest Oil companies in the world. They have a new contract opportunity available for an Electrical Controls & Instrumentation Engineer to be based in the South East area. This is a minimum 12 month contract with a view to further extension, working a 40hour week.
This opportunity will be PAYE through Umbrella
The Electrical Controls & Instrumentation Engineer will be responsible for managing delivery of Controls and Instrumentation projects ensuring compliance with legislation and corporate standards and also supporting the functional safety management activities for Fuels UK operated Terminals in Hamble
Provide technical advice and Electrical Controls & Instrumentation Engineer project support for the terminals.
Work with Engineering Design Consultants and contractors in developing the scope through front end design, management of change reviews and construction, commissioning and hand over to operations.
Produce monthly progress report for own projects showing actual spend, commitment and status vs. approved budgets.
Ensure Functional Safety Assessments and the adequate maintenance of all Function Safety Management Systems in accordance with BP and industry standards whichever are more onerous
Experienced Electrical Controls & Instrumentation Engineer in the Oil & Gas or Chemical industry
Experience and knowledge of Electrical distribution systems, systems (SCADA, DCS, PLC, Alarm management, HMI), ATEX and SIS.
Knowledge of Terminals and storage and handling of bulk petroleum products an advantage
Project experience as a customer/end user on brownfield projects/sites, including start up and commissioning phases.
