Senior Software Developer
We are all unique and our health is influenced by our intrinsic differences in combination with our individual lifestyles and environments. Moving away from a “one size fits all” approach, personalized medicine aims to consider these differences to help detect illness earlier, identify risk of developing disease and to recommend which treatments will be the most effective for us.
The combination of artificial intelligence with digital pathology is unleashing the potential of precision medicine. Advances in deep learning and image recognition have allowed researchers to exploit the rich sources of data found in digital slides, automatically and more reproducibly than humans. With these advances come the challenges of managing this wealth of new insights.
