ABOUT THIS ROLE
The Survivability Engineer will work in the Weapons Science group which is part of the Applied Science division. Within Weapons Science, the Survivability Team provides platform protection expertise spanning; sensing and countermeasures, defensive aids systems, armour, vehicle stopping systems as well as maritime survivability modelling.
WHAT I WILL BE DOING
The Survivability Engineer will provide technical leadership and individual contribution to technical teams to ensure that programmes are delivered effectively and meet customer requirements and expectations as well as leadership of some repeat-type technical tasks.
You will provide support to the BD managers and Bid Managers in the construction of work programmes, including their costing and scheduling.
The Survivability Engineer will be providing liaison with colleagues, customers and other stakeholders to ensure timely delivery.
As Survivability Engineer, you will ensure the application of an appropriate level of Technical Assurance for opportunities and projects; as part of the project cycle ensure that customers’ requirements and tasks are fully understood and that problems, issues and risks are reliably identified at the outset.
WHAT DO I NEED
As Survivability Engineer, you must have a degree in Science or Engineering, or an equivalent, nationally recognised, professional qualification.
It is desirable to have demonstrated key skills by working on sensor, laser or system evaluations.
