Systems Engineers are required to design complex systems for on-board systems and the support of these in service to ensure the collection of systems fulfils the requirements. They are required to carry out theoretical and analytical computations and verify through simulation and physical testing. These are the typical skills that we recruit for within Systems.
Mission Systems engineers cover a range of skills including avionics, mission management & intelligent systems, tactical sensors, defensive aids / electronic warfare, command, control & communications.
Flight Systems engineers utilise mechanical and electrical engineering skills to design, develop and support a range of aircraft flight critical systems covering fuel, landing gear, engines, thermal, electrical, hydraulic, life support and crew escape along with the associated ground support equipment required to maintain serviceability. In addition Flight Systems Engineers are increasingly required to apply complex system control expertise in the management of these systems and the development of health monitoring capabilities.
Electromagnetics engineers have applications throughout the engineering life cycle including concept, prototyping, design, development, qualification and in-service support. Skills within this discipline include protection from electromagnetics hazards, computational electromagnetics, electronic warfare, installed antenna performance and aircraft low observability in both Radio Frequency (RF) and Infra-red (IR).
