New Product Research and Development.
To identify new product potential.
Develop, debug and test product firmware and its application.
Develop test coverage requirements.
Assist the production team by developing production test software.
Manage internal projects to include:
Improvement projects to enhance manufacturing efficiency.
Improving product quality through software obsolescence improvements.
Reducing new and existing product costs through improvement initiatives.
Using Field/Warranty & internal QC Data to drive product improvement.
To provide technical support to internal departments as necessary.
Skills and experience required:
Preferably a years’ experience in industry but would consider a recent graduate in electrical or software engineering, or equivalent relevant qualification. Experience in Embedded C is a distinct advantage.
Must be keen to take ownership of the new industry leading products that they are working on and have the confidence to work independently.
Must have an aptitude for problem solving and not only be able to identify problems, but also devise possible solutions and solve them in a timely manner.
An understanding of hardware components is essential to work alongside the hardware engineer on numerous projects. Additional training will be provided.
Enthusiastic about product development and willing to play a key role in the direction and development of both firmware and software for a brand-new product line.
Experience in team collaboration and must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interface effectively with the rest of the Research and Development team, suppliers and other departments.
Experience of running a project from the initial specification through to product launch whilst creating a detailed plan, completing project specific milestones in an organised and timely manner and the ability to work to strict deadlines would be advantageous.
You must be proficient with the MS Office suite; knowledge of Microsoft Project would also be an advantage.
