Kier Highways is looking to recruit a Site Engineer to work in conjunction with the Site Team to ensure construction is carried out accurately; that quality is maintained; records are kept; abortive or defective work is avoided, and that satisfactory progress is achieved.
The site engineer will be responsible for setting out works constructed within allowable tolerances. Ensuring the workforce understands the setting out information and that it is suitable for the type of work being carried out. Regularly checking the setting out points, benchmarks, setting out instruments and measuring equipment. Responsible for providing and maintaining setting out and dimensional control, to ensure accurate construction of the work. Assisting in managing systems to record the quality of work completed, testing of workmanship & materials. Provides engineering support to ensure technical problems are overcome and technical queries are answered. To be aware of the provisions of the Kier Safety, Health and Environmental Management System and to assist in its implementation to ensure a safe working environment. Assist in the preparation of ‘as-built drawings’.
What do we need from you?
Related HNC/Degree or equivalent. Experience in structures, drainage & earthworks. Proficient in using setting out equipment such as total stations, GPS, automatic level & laser level. Competent at using cable avoidance tools. Practical working knowledge using CAD.
