The Production Support Engineer will provide a broad and flexible support function to assist the site based engineering teams in the efficient day to day execution of their objectives. Acting as part of the local maintenance team they will attend assembly equipment breakdowns and undertake PPM schedules as requested, in order to maintain service levels & reduce machinery downtime.
To assist investigate and implement improvement projects targeting our performance against OEE and other targeted metrics
Assist with day to day activities of the maintenance team, actively facilitating team effectiveness to deliver improvements
Provide support to other site based engineering teams such as Tooling and Facilities.
When needed to liaise with and support MEG engineers in the transfer of their projects into validated and robust production
If required and with sufficient prior notice to provide shift cover for Maintenance Engineers (during periods of absence)
To identify and implement the required training needed to support any improvements as well as the introduction of any new products or process
To ensure complete handover packages are compiled and available within manufacturing to ensure the smooth and compliant introduction of new equipment and processes into production.
To personally identify and encourage other associates to do so areas for improvements to our processes, products and compliance.
To comply diligently with all administrative and procedural requirements of the role, ensuring full compliance with all regulatory guidelines and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
To provide an out-of-hours service to cover emergencies if required.
When required, participate in plant shutdowns for maintenance and to assist with shutdown works. This work usually occurs during the Christmas New Year period but can occur at other times

Conduct themselves in a professional and courteous manner, whilst maintaining an appropriate standard of appearance

Whilst the above responsibilities constitute the primary functions of the role, the Production Support Engineer may be required to carry out other reasonable tasks as dictated by the needs of the business
Knowledge and Expertise
Mechanical fitting and adjustment skills on Manufacturing equipment.
Able to diagnose in great detail mechanical equipment faults
Preventative Maintenance Procedures & Best Practices
Able to read and make minor design changes to CAD drawings
Recognised engineering apprenticeship
ONC (or equivalent) in an associated engineering discipline
Excellent reactive attitude
Flexible individual working across sites
