For many fans of formula one, the sport exists between lights and chequered flag on a Sunday afternoon. It begins and ends with the exploits of the drivers on the track. But this is merely the tip of the spear. The reality of modern f1 is that of a complex and intertwined operation, every part of which needs to perform near its limit if success is to be achieved. From the pit crew searching for the ultimate repeatable pit stop, to the inspiration of the designers, the application of engineers and the herculean efforts of an army of fabricators and machinists, formula one is a team sport in a very literal sense – that's why we love what we do.
We require a passionate engineering software developer, ideally educated to at least degree level in Applied Mathematics or Computer Science.
You should have excellent C++ software development skills with experience of Linux and Windows. The ideal candidate will have experience developing GUI driven data visualisation tools using Qt and OpenGL. You will have done data analysis and modelling to extract insights from large data sets and will have experience of interfacing to databases and web services.
You should be self-motivated and proactive, with excellent communication skills and the ability to work to very tight deadlines within a dynamic team environment, often with minimal supervision.
Working from our Milton Keynes factory you will be part of a small team and provide key software tools to the aerodynamics department and the wider company. This role is a Fixed Term Contract position until the end of 2020.
