Purpose of the Role:
This is a critical role on operational level in the Product Change Management (PCM) process that is a key business process driving engineering changes in to all McLaren products. Reporting to Senior Change Control Engineer the role encompasses the independence and objectivity necessary to drive all stakeholders in the change control process at operational level as per their responsibility and accountability. Working as part of the Change Control Engineering team you will be ensuring effective and efficient implementation of change to any model or variant in development stages or in series production. You will be liaising and working closely with representatives of all other stakeholder departments (Engineering, SQA, Supply Planning, Purchasing, Manufacturing Engineering, Logistics Operations, Central Planning, Production etc.) to ensure consistent following of the process, effective communication, risk analysis and mitigation leading to effective implementation of change with no or minimal impact to series production. You will be liaising closely with the Change Control Coordinators to facilitate and ensure implementation of temporary change is effectively executed.
Implement engineering change to the product in line with the PCM processes
Liaise closely with all departments across the business involved in the product change management process (Engineering, Purchasing, Supply Planning, SQA, Quality, Logistics, Man Eng, Production)
Facilitate the product change management meetings
Generate progress status reports and communicate to the business effectively including preparation of daily, weekly and monthly KPI’s and investigate all deviations from agreed standards
Ensure adequate product data analysis has been conducted and ensure timely resolution of any inconsistencies
Ensure product change management data integrity and accuracy in the SAP system
Plan and coordinate activities required to ensure consistent application of the product change management process
Conduct regular process and system reviews to ensure continuous imporvement of the product change management process as part of the process ownership
Support the wider department functions by becoming a competent QMS Internal Auditor and conducting audits
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
Computer skills are critical (MS Office)
Experience in product data management is critical
Previous Change Management experience is beneficial
Previous experience with SAP is beneficial
Experience in business systems analytics is beneficial
Previous experience in automotive industry is beneficial (product knowledge)
Previous experience in Quality Management Systems and processes is beneficial
Previous experience in product /process auditing is beneficial
Project management skills are beneficial
University Degree 2:1 or above
Effective communicator at all working levels

Have structured logical and analytical approach
