APPRENTICES - IN ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING
Train to become a Multi Skilled Crane Service Engineer with a world-leading lifting systems Company.

Konecranes global challenge is to get the right people, with the right skills to provide a valuable service for our customers. 100% of our UK Apprentices have gained permanent employment in Konecranes, after they have successfully completed the Apprentice Programme.
Our UK Apprentice Programme works in partnership with local colleges to train our Apprentices over a 3-year period. Some of our best Technicians and current Senior Managers have come through this programme. Training will be in accordance with the Konecranes Apprentice Training Programme.
First year apprentices will attend the local college for off-the-job training for a year and subsequent training will be through day release in accordance with the Company's Apprentice Training Programme. You will also attend your local branch during college holidays to help gain further understanding of our business and the nature of the work carried out. At the end of the first year there will be a month-long internal training programme at our UK Training Centre in Banbury, Oxfordshire.
On completion of the training and subject to consideration of ability, aptitude and successful college results it is expected that you will qualify as a Service Technician, with an NVQ Level 2 & 3 in Electrical Engineering and you will be offered a permanent position in the Company. Subject to performance and aspiration, there will be the option to complete a 4th year to undertake a BTEC Higher National Certificate in electrical and electronic engineering.
Paid day or block release for attendance at a local College will be granted for the duration of the apprenticeship, subject to satisfactory results and attendance. The normal period of training is three years.

WE WOULD LIKE YOU AS AN APPRENTICE TO HAVE/BE:
Minimum 17 years old entry age
A minimum of 6 GCSEs and have Grade 6 (or equivalent) or above in the following subjects - Maths, English and a Science.
Willingness to stay and travel away from home on a regular basis. This includes being away for blocks of 4 weeks training in our UK Training Centre in Banbury.
Willingness to work in other UK districts for periods of time. (Hotel and food subsistence paid for)
Punctual and well organised
Enthusiastic with a desire to listen, learn, ask questions and be prepared to take on constructive criticism
Good verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work well as part of a team, showing respect for others and listen to instructions from others
Practical and logical with a desire for problem solving
Able to climb ladders
Able to work at heights
You must live local/within commuting distance (30 miles) of the Branch location.
Good IT skills
Driving licence preferred, must be willing to learn to drive and pass driving test within first year of apprenticeship
Hours of work 39 per week
A commitment to your safety whilst at work and the provision of ongoing safety and technical training
Good salary paid monthly
1st Year apprentice rate is £7.35 per hour
Thereafter yearly performance rated increases to full Service Technician rate in 4th year subject to satisfactory performance.
The apprentice rates are reviewed annually each September
College training fees paid
