As our Business Development Executive, you will be responsible for using the company’s extensive customer database to generate new business, identify potential upselling opportunities and to help create appointments for the team of External Sales engineers. There may be other administrative tasks as required. This position will offer the right candidate a varied and challenging work experience and is an ideal first step into a career with an ambitious, growing company.
Main Duties & Tasks:
Contact existing customers on a large database to generate new business.
Make and manage appointments for the external sales team.
Manage the existing database and update and remove customers as required.
Work alongside the Marketing department to support the businesses marketing campaigns.
Create new business leads utilising call lists.
Keep detailed records of customer contact on the database up to date.
Must hold GCSE level qualification of grade C (grade 4) or above in English and Maths.
Must have a good understanding of IT systems and should be comfortable using Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook etc.)
An understanding of/interest in engineering would be advantageous.
Additional qualifications are desirable but not essential.
Salary and Benefits:
The position offers a competitive salary. After an initial six month probation period, the salary will be reviewed based on the candidate’s performance. After the first year with the company, the new employee will be eligible for a discretional annual bonus. Employees get 33 days holiday each year inclusive of bank holidays and winter (Christmas) shutdown. A Workplace Pension scheme is also available. Depending on the employee’s performance, additional training and qualifications may be offered on the provision that the employee is expected to complete a minimum term of employment once the course is finished. This will be agreed upon when registering for a course.
The ideal candidate will be a driven, self-motivated person. Full product training will be given so prior technical expertise is not required, but any candidates who have a desire for personal, professional development and an aptitude for learning will excel within this company. The candidate must be confident and able to communicate well both verbally and in writing. They will be fully supported as they settle into their new role. We are willing to discuss this position with anyone who has achieved at least grade C (grade 4) in Maths and English at GCSE level and is proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office package. Additional qualifications such as a University degree would be considered desirable, but are not essential for this position.
Prior experience in B2B development role is essential for this position. The candidate must be comfortable with contacting customers on the telephone, both making and receiving calls and have a proven track record in telephone-based sales or account management. Additional experience with level control or in technical product sales would be extremely advantageous.
