Reporting to Product Engineering Manager - The Manufacturing Process Improvement Engineer is tasked with supporting improving capacity and efficiency of manufacturing. To provide support in reducing lead-time and defect rates.
Responsible for successfully defining, scoping and delivering on improving efficiency and utilization of products
Develops test plans and protocols for evaluation of system performance
Conducts analysis of systems specifications and uses the latest analysis/diagramming tools to represent business/technical processes
Develops conversion and system implementation plans
Prepares and obtains approval of system and programming documentation
Recommends changes in development, maintenance and system standards
Trains user personnel in the conversion and implementation of the system
Develops resolutions to reduce defect rates and lead time for customers
Improved Health & Safety in working practices
Drive and focus on continuous improvement to site
Investigate and implement improvements to existing product processes.
Provide regular updates on the improvement projects
Maintain and enhance good stakeholder relations through effective communication
Analyze and identify opportunities to reduce process variation, improve process capabilities and optimize process performance. –
Develop process improvement initiatives to increase operational efficiency and productivity. –
Facilitate the deployment of new and changed processes to provide improved results.
Prepare project presentations for management when needed.
Skill and Aptitude Profile:
Must have experience in Injection moulding processed and mythologies.
Must have experience in automating processes
University degree (ideally in Engineering)
Experience in the Life Science market, ideally relating to Molecular Biology and PCR technology
Strong drive and commitment to finish projects to a high standard
Effective communication skills in a range of formats to all stakeholders
Strong relationship building capability and an ability to maintain a professional network
Extremely organized and excellent attention to detail
Strong analytical, data and decision-making skills
Ability to work independently
Computer literate especially in Microsoft programs
Fluent in English both written and spoken
Commitment to continuous improvement and personal development
An understanding of production and manufacturing processes
