The Zen Business Cloud and Hosting team is undergoing a period of sustained hyper-growth, having grown over 100% last year and with similar forecasts for the future. On the back of this, the business is making a significant investment for the future and is looking to hire Systems Administrators into a number of new roles.
So, about the opportunity. Reporting to the Operations and Engineering Manager, as a Systems Administrator you will act as a project engineer for private Cloud solutions deployed to customers. You will work closely with our customers ensuring that their solutions are built to best practices across each of our 5 key design pillars - Security, Cost Optimisation, Operational Excellence, Reliability and Performance efficiency.
Primarily working on our VMware based Zen Cloud platform you will lead and develop working practices that meet and excel across each of these design pillars.
As well as the delivery of Zen Cloud only solutions, you will also provide key technical input to multi-service opportunities. Working alongside our Cloud Architects and Engineers you'll ensure that customer solutions evolve in-life, taking advantage of new technologies and services within the wider Cloud ecosystem.
You'll also provide a point of escalation to colleagues resolving customer service incidents as well as taking part in the on-call rota.
Success for you will see you taking the lead on building high quality customer solutions as well as leading client project meetings and workshops. You'll enjoy coaching and sharing your knowledge to our Cloud Support Engineers, while still showing a desire to build on your own capabilities

Knowledge of open-source technologies and services (Linux, Apache, MySQL, Bash)
Knowledge of DevOps tools and frameworks (e.g. Code repositories, Automation [Infrastructure as code etc.)
