Acting as the Head of Permanent Way Design for Network Rail and industry contractors to deliver plain line and switch and crossing projects in Scotland.
As an experienced manager of permanent way designs, you will be involved in a range of small to large railway projects which are industry leading and have a large public profile.
The role will be challenging and varied, offering fantastic opportunities for skillset and career development. You will be required to assist winning work and to help grow a permanent way team, being responsible for the technical delivery of all the single discipline and multi discipline rail projects from feasibility, outline design and detailed design.
We are looking for a Head of Permanent Way Design to undertake the role for both plain line and complex switch and crossing designs for a broad range of railway engineering projects.
Experience in a range of Network Rail permanent way solutions as a CRE (Contractors Responsible Engineer) and CEM.
Worked as a railway CEM.
Competency with Network Rail Permanent Way design standards.
Experience of working in UK rail industry in the full project lifecycle, including budget/finance control.
Proven Permanent Way Design Manager, with the ability to lead design teams.
Experience working in or with a multi-disciplinary design consultancy
An Industry leader with a strong technical focus.
Strong IT skills.
Capability to work to deadlines and work autonomously when required.
