About the role:
This is an exciting opportunity for a Technical Support Engineer to join an enthusiastic team delivering geotechnical, structural and environmental monitoring to a wide range of clients across the UK with the UK’s number one testing, inspection and compliance company.
Client focused and quality driven, we are a leading provider of monitoring services. Now we need a Technical Department Technician who will be responsible for the construction and pre-site testing of the various structural monitoring systems deployed by SOCOTEC Monitoring, whilst also responsible for stock control within the Technical Department’s components and the department’s asset register. They will assist in the design, development and integration of new technologies into geotechnical and structural monitoring systems deployed by SOCOTEC Monitoring. Assist in the management of the company’s communications devices used within the monitoring systems deployed and assist with technical fault finding and rectification on site, alongside general site installations of the monitoring systems deployed by SOCOTEC Monitoring.
Assist with the development of data acquisition systems.
Assist with the development of the specification for a system, producing part lists and creating wiring diagrams.
Assist in the procurement of datalogger parts and the selection of hardware
Assist with the assembly of dataloggers to ensure they are built to the required specifications and standards.
We’re looking for a professional, dynamic and motivated individual with ability to work alone and as part of a team.
Communicative, organised, flexible and committed, you must also have:
GCSE grade A-C Mathematics, Science and English
Good computer literacy skills
Ability to work effectively and responsibly without close supervision
Good organisational and time management skills
