12 Months FTC, up to £20,000 + Bonus + Benefits
We are looking for a Junior Software Engineer to join our friendly and supportive IT engineering team at AXA PPP healthcare in Tunbridge Wells on a 12 Months FTC basis.
We have a comfortable and modern office environment with the potential to work remotely and to flex your hours.
This is an exciting opportunity to be mentored by senior engineers in a busy agile delivery team and would be ideal for a student looking for a placement.
You will train, learn and develop your skills whilst contributing to the success of some of our key IT systems using an exciting mix of technologies including:
.NET/.NET Core, C#, MVC, Web API
Azure Cloud Services
Complete online and hands-on training whilst being mentored by our senior engineers.
Learn how we design, develop and support our strategic IT systems, employing industry best practices.
Learn to focus on automation and code quality, working with automated release pipelines and automated test packs to ensure a highly efficient and quality product is shipped to our users.
Complete work assignments within an agile team, adhering to Scrum or Kanban principles and other practices such as BDD, TDD, pair programming and mob programming.
What do I need?
You must be driven, motivated and keen to learn.
We expect all engineers to be professional, team players who respect opinions and strive for continual improvement.
A good working knowledge of one main programming language applicable to the role is ideal, although any experience in other languages is also valued.
Knowledge of current industry trends in programming and evidence of self-learning.

Pay and Bonus
We carefully consider our pay levels and carry out a review each year so you are paid fairly for what you do. When AXA does well, we share in its success and all employees are eligible for a discretionary bonus payment each year, dependant on individual and company performance.

We want to help you actively plan for a financially healthy retirement, so we offer a Defined Contribution Pension Scheme. This means that we contribute to your pension fund depending on the amount you choose to pay in.
Work life balance is important. Our holiday entitlements start at a minimum of 22 days (plus bank holidays) dependent on the business area or the role, increasing up to 28 days (plus bank holidays) with length of service. Depending on which part of AXA you work in, there’s also flexibility to buy up to five additional days or sell up to three days, helping you to achieve the right balance for you.
