You will have a very good knowledge of, and extensive experience delivering fire risk management, and in particular fire risk assessments, across various industries (retail, healthcare, office, banking, military, government etc.).
A good understanding of regulatory enforcement, and ideally experience liaising and negotiating with enforcement authorities, together with expert knowledge in a particular field of fire safety, or a particular industry sector would be advantageous.
Understanding of fire safety relating to CDM would be a distinct advantage, as would significant experience of large developments or a ‘stand out’ individual without the experience but definitely moving in the right direction, and having the right attitude and good people skills.
Education & Experience
Qualifications are important but not the only measure of competency, and we review each application on its own merits, but completion of the CFPA Fire Prevention Diploma, the Certificate in Fire Safety (Fire Auditors), or the Diploma in Fire Safety (Fire Inspectors) would be a distinct advantage. Significant experience in the delivery of fire risk management activities will be equally viewed.
Registration on an industry recognised third party accreditation scheme for fire risk assessors is expected, or a clear path towards registration and evidence of progression.
Technical competency and qualification relating to the design or installation of fire protection systems (fire detection, suppression, and smoke control), experience delivering surveys of compartmentation, or qualifications relating to fire engineering will also be viewed favorably.
