Reporting to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager, the NC Programmer (ME) for Composites, will be primarily accountable for the programming of 5 axis routers used to drill and trim composite panels. The ME will identify and utilise best practice processes, optimizing key resources such as machine, labour and material.
This is a fixed term role for 6 months.
Maintaining Catia V5 tooling catalogues (CSV file) and creating all tool models
Maintaining tooling catalogues issued to operators
Create NC programs using Catia V5 and V4
Utilise machine simulation software to ensure programs conform to drawings / models
Create NC Technique Sheets for machine operators
Ensure all programs are issue level maintained
Ensure all tooling is ordered
Ability to interpret 2D drawings and 3D models
Exhibit GD&T proficiency
Support operators / problem solve issues on machines
Support tape try-out process ensuring smooth handover with production
Good leadership skills including coaching, mentoring and team engagement
Manage own performance against agreed goals and objectives, accountable for quality and on time delivery
Understand, liaise and support both internal and external customers
Support New Product Introduction (NPI) both from a Design for Manufacture perspective and implementation
Support the tooling function, identify tooling needs and support tool design from concept through to final design
Ensure processes contribute to a safe working environment and meet EHS requirements
Identify and reduce product quality issues caused by process variation
Track/drive root cause analysis and corrective actions for production issues
Define, enable and measure process capability
Utilise lean-manufacturing principles and participate in action workouts to improve process capability, quality, reduce overall costs and increase capacity
Technically proficient within their discipline
Minimum HNC in an associated engineering discipline or equivalent with relevant wok experience
Strong experience of CATIA V5
Strong oral and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
Ability to work independently
Strong problem solving skills

Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance is required and must be maintained for this role. CATIA V4 experience (preferred but not required)
Experience programming composite components – predominantly structure panels
Experience using MSP software
