The Role
We are currently recruiting for a Fleet Engineer to join us to support our Rolling Stock team by overseeing the day to day technical management of the current CAF Urbos Tram fleet and ensuring a safe and dependable tram service is provided.
Other responsibilities will include:
Correctly reporting, rectifying, tracking and closing any in service failures;
Analyse fleet data to establish any trends; helping to improve reliability and prevent in service failures;
Work closely with other departments within the business to help improve fleet performance;
To improve the reliability of the fleet and cost effectiveness of vehicle maintenance you will develop the maintenance regime, including instructions, procedures and associated documents;
Investigate and review fleet safety related incidents;
Carry out rostered on-call duties as part of Fleet Technical On-call team.

What you’ll need:
You’ll hold a time served Engineering Apprenticeship and further qualifications in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering;
Extensive experience in a technical engineering position;
Experience in finding and diagnosing faults in complex mechanical, electrical, electronic, hydraulic and pneumatic systems;
Rolling stock experience in a depot environment;
In depth knowledge of rolling stock systems and technologies;
Knowledge of National and European railway standards.
