We have an excellent opportunity to join our regional Mars Wrigley R&D team based in Slough. We are looking for a Principle Engineer to join our newly formed Regional Factory Innovation team to ensure the effective delivery of internal and external regional innovation, value leadership and supply security projects into the manufacturing sites.
With the technical know-how and experience to execute a portfolio of projects, our ideal candidate will also have advanced Six Sigma experience and the skill to build and drive our regional capability in this area as well as data driven complex problem solving with a focus on digitalisation and technology.
What are we looking for?
Degree in Food Science or Engineering is required
Black Belt Six Sigma is essential, Master Black Belt preferred
Proven project management skills with experience gained on product development and/or factory change implementation projects. Hands on experience in the development and launch of new products, packages and processes.
Ideally the applicant will have proven experience of defining and deploying Six Sigma capability within an organisation.
Proven ability to influence and inspire stakeholders and lead people and teams
High level of business, organisation and communication skills
What would be your key responsibilities?
Develop the direction for the Regional Factory Innovation team, setting priorities for the function and identifying and helping recruit/secure appropriate technical resources to enable the function to deliver its remit.
Create and deploy the strategy to build the capability of the R&D function within the region in Six Sigma methodology and tools, reflecting the use of Six Sigma in Product and Process Design Excellence. This will include the deployment and delivery of training programs for Green and Black belt qualifications.
To understand Mars Inc. internal and external best practice and seeks ways to continuously improve the use of fact-based problem solving and statistical analysis within Mars.
In partnership with other 6 Sigma Principal Specialists across the 3 regions in Mars Wrigley and in other segments, build, lead and support the Global Code of Practice for Six sigma in Mars and develop the long term strategic plan to build capability
To build an external network of consultants to support Mars Wrigley in the management, training, coaching of complex projects, which leverage Six Sigma.
