An opportunity has arisen for a Process Engineer accountable for developing, maintaining and improving the day to day process standards on the tissue manufacturing or tissue converting assets.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Deliver key business results - Safety, Quality, Cost and Delivery (SQDC)
Maintain and improve the business processes to standard through regular Plan, Do, Check, Adjust (PDCA)
Leads trials and projects to support business developments and Mill initiatives in order to improve or optimise product, cost performance, equipment, raw materials or process operation. At times of high project implementation provides process input and support. This may include being a member of the project team and fully involved in all stages of the project.
Regularly benchmark with external organisations and sites within KC to gather best practice and highlight opportunities for continuous improvement
Develop and effectively implement safe systems of work relating to the Material Flow Process and its surrounding environment, whilst contributing to the achievements of the area safety targets, in order to ensure that the process and its environment comply with KC and legislative requirements
Environmental compliance and auditing. Waste management & maintaining COSHH
Develop, implement and maintain systems which will identify and measure process performance so that all activities are focused on sustaining or improving process capability
Identify, establish and agree standards in order that the process can be operated and maintained to the required level of capability
Plan and schedule process maintenance activities to assure process reliability, in a way which effectively integrates asset and business requirements, in order to maximise process utilisation and performance
Chemical supplier management and direction
Audit quality processes to ensure that the system is effectively operated and that the quality targets are achieved
Ensure that the Material Flow Process is operated in a way which optimises the utilisation of raw materials, consumables and services, so that the process achieves its budget operating cost
Work co-operatively with other Process Engineers and the Technical and Operational Support Team, in order to effectively realise process engineering plans across the KC Business
Monitor process status; investigate new and emerging technologies and materials in order to continuously improve process efficiency and enhance product performance
Identify, support and gain approval for capital expenditure, which anticipates current or future Business needs, or which improves process capability and lead through to successful completion
Development of standard work in order that the output requirements for all roles within the Material Flow Process can be established and training and development programmes designed
Qualifications and Experience Required:
Educated to Degree level in an Engineering or related discipline
Experience in a Process Engineer role within Heavy Industry, Food & Beverage, Water Industry, Paper/Tissue, Nuclear, Electricity, Chemical manufacturing or similar
Good interpersonal skills to communicate at a variety of levels with Operations, Engineering and Management teams.
Knowledge of process engineering techniques, process control and quality systems.
Numerate, computer literate.
Flexible, hands-on approach to problem solving.
A 'Can do' customer focused attitude with the ability to adapt to any given situation
