MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
The primary purpose of the role is to manage the end to end delivery of multiple capital-based manufacturing process (bulk materials handling/feeding/preparation, mixing, depositing, baking, etc) and packaging engineering projects to specification, time and cost plan, achieving the highest of engineering and professional standards.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Full end to end project management of multiple manufacturing process and packaging-based capital projects, including: Development of pipeline of suitable projects, including; feasibility studies, cost benefit analysis, etc. Lead compilation of capital authority request documentation/narrative Lead and engage end users in the development of engineering scope Develop functional design specifications in compliance with engineering & Premier specifications Run tender and procurement activity with equipment vendors Selection of preferred supplier(s) through robust selection process, including application of appropriate contract Management of all health and safety aspects of capital projects (e.g. CDM requirements) Reporting of project progress; tracking of milestones, activity, priorities, financials Ensure compliance at pre-delivery milestones to user acceptance test protocols Manage key resource through to project delivery Manage post-delivery process including installation, commissioning, training, etc. Deliver to user acceptance criteria
Other: Manage and develop instrumentation and control strategy, including, process control, shop floor data collection Look to develop technology in line with Premier business strategy and partners Manage and develop key departmental systems/tools (e.g. PROMP – Capex control process) Supporting the site’s team and Premier Foods NPD and Category teams with projects from concept to completion.
QUALIFICATIONS: Engineering Degree or equivalent
EXPERIENCE: Minimum 5 years Food & FMCG background Extensive capital project management experience with a customer focus Conversant with relevant legislation (e.g. IEE 17th Edition, DSEAR, etc) Demonstrable record in successful delivery of engineering capital projects in FMCG with particular emphasis on specification/integration/implementation Extensive capital project experience CAD literate MS Project proficient Demonstrable control system and PLC design/specifications experience Experience of indirect management of multi-functional/disciplinary teams Experience of modern manufacturing practice Food processing and associated equipment knowledge Strong working knowledge/experience of Rockwell/Allen Bradley control systems
