Primary Purpose of the Role:
As part of the Software and Hardware Engineering function split between our Bristol and Harwell sites this role is seen as an essential part of building the business’ long term capability in AIT and software development, as part of broader plans to become a Prime Contractor in the Space business. You will play a critical role in supporting Electrical Ground Support Equipment (EGSE) specification for Spacecraft AIT. Reporting directly to the EGSE Manager with technical oversight provided by the Skill lead, the main duties and responsibilities could include:
Specification of EGSE to support Spacecraft AIT (e.g. EPS, RF, CCS, TMTCFE) following requirement engineering process, in accordance with relevant standards (i.e. ECSS etc.) and taking into account customer level requirements.
Review of suppliers’ documentation / RID generation (e.g. during Tender phase or during formal reviews as PDR/CDR/TRR etc…),
Support of major review with the Customer.
Production of relevant EGSE documentation (e.g. Design reports, Compliance Matrix just to mention few)
Oversee manufacturing/procurement process for EGSE systems, which may include, product selection, procurement and managing manufacturing processes
1st level support for the AIT facility, which may include hardware commission ing, maintenance and troubleshooting
Candidate desired Skill-set:
You will be able to demonstrate expertise in one or (ideally) more than one of the following fields
Experience design and/or procurement of either Electrical Ground Support Equipment or Automatic Test Equipment
Any experience in test benches designed to support real-time Hardware In The Loop (HWIL) testing will be considered as an asset (e.g. AOCS SCOE)
Knowledge of one (or more) Spacecraft subsystem interfaces (e.g. EPS, OBC, COMMS etc.) is considered an asset
EGSE Data Exchange Network (EDEN) protocol will be a plus
Experience Requirements Management is desirable (i.e. RATIONAL DOORS)
