My client is a multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy that serves clients mainly in the North West and North Wales and cover the residential and commercial development markets.
They have an exciting opportunity for a Geo-environmental Engineer to join their Wigan office.
Involvement in and project management of a range of geo-environmental projects from desk studies to intrusive investigations of a variety of greenfield and brownfield sites
Planning and undertaking of geotechnical and geo-environmental intrusive works
Management of site contractors and site investigation
Conducting trial pitting and soil and rock logging on site
Soil and rock logging in accordance with Eurocode 7
Appreciation of both geotechnical and geo-environmental issues relating to redevelopment of sites · Using Holebase SI Professional software
Interpretation of chemical and geotechnical data
Liaising with designers to produce 3D geological models, CSM’s etc
Factual and Interpretative reporting (Ideally both, although my client will also review applications from candidates who have only factual reporting and would offer training to do interpretative).
Production of remediation strategies

You will represent the company with confidence to a variety of clients and external organisations.
The ability to take initiative as well as working within part of a team within appropriate authority levels is vital and the candidate will be well motivated, innovative and career-minded.
As a multi-disciplinary practice, there is also an opportunity to integrate and work with other engineering fields within the company.
You will have strong communication skills both verbal and written.
Be currently working in a similar position
You must hold a degree from one of the following disciplines: Geology, Engineering Geology, Environmental Science or Civil Engineering.
You must hold a full UK Drivers licence.
This is a small and very well established organisation where engineers work in a relaxed and productive environment. With all sites relatively local to the offices - this position would suit a engineer who is looking for a good work / life balance.
Salary £25,000 - £30,000
