Your role will be to create a Quality led business system against a backdrop of rapid company growth and tight delivery timescales. The business currently has a range of customers including, but not exclusively, defence and aerospace clients, and is growing at a rapid pace.
This is a high-profile role within the organisation and requires tenacity and persistence and a hands-on attitude.
Reporting to the Managing Director the Quality Manager is responsible for the definition and maintenance of quality systems within the UK group. This includes, but is not limited to ISO9001:2015, AS9100 rev D, ISO14000 and ISO45000.
Responsible for the hosting of customer audits, customer buyoffs and certification body audits.
Responsible for the approval of new suppliers via supplier quality audits and the periodic auditing of existing suppliers in conjunction with the Procurement Manager.
Responsible for the customer Return Materials Approval process including driving true root cause identification and resolution using structured problem-solving techniques.
Responsible for maintaining discipline through the engineering change process and rejecting changes that do not comply with the required documentation level.
Responsible for collating and collection KPI information across all departments to support the PDCA cycle of ISO9001:2015.
Responsible for internal auditing and reporting of audit deviations and problem reporting processes in line with Iso9001 requirements
Responsible for the collation of supplier reject rate and the incoming inspection of delivered parts across multiple sites within the group.
Desirable requirements are:
Experience in a fast-moving manufacturing environment preferably in high value capital equipment assembly.
Experience of implementing quality systems from scratch against tight timescales.
Experience of managing a team of quality engineers.
Previous experience in a Quality Managers position.
Experience of Value Stream Mapping preferably with a lean six sigma qualification.
A tenacious, persistent and diplomatic personality.
