Main purpose of Role
Assist in the design and development of mechanical and electrical design solutions, for a variety of specialist vehicle projects from concept through to manufacture .

Key Objectives / Accountability
Assist in the design and development of mechanical and electrical design solutions, for a variety of specialist vehicle projects from concept through to manufacture.
Participate in the life cycle of product development.
Create tailored documents to present new designs or modifications.
Create operating instructions and project files.
Interrogate design proposal drawings to verify design, components and assemblies.
Produce 3D Models and draught engineering drawings including CAD CAM programming of new and existing components using 3D/2D CAD software.
To assist in basic day to day drawing office duties and procedures.
Presentation of design solution internally and to customers if required
Quality, HS&E compliance and external and internal audit findings
Full compliance with stated processes and work instructions
Consistently meet Quality Targets
Consistently meet Design Targets on time and within budget
What do I need to do to do the role?
Experience of Automotive Design (electro/mechanical)
Experience of Designing and developing Automotive and other Vehicle components.
Experience of Sheet Metal design, Fabrication / Manufacturing processes .
Ability to produce 3D Models and draught engineering drawings to include CAD CAM using 3D/2D CAD software (SolidWorks, Alphacam).
Ability to apply basic engineering calculations.
Ability to develop and maintain good internal relationships.
Ability to act as a credible representative of the company to external parties.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team to achieve desired results.
Experience of working in an automotive / engineering environment is essential.
Educated to HNC/HND standard or equivalent.
CAD / 3D Modelling Qualifications.
Proficient 3D and 2D CAD user.
Highly computer literate (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.)
Practical knowledge of materials and their properties for design and development.
Good knowledge of FEA, prototyping, manufacturing and production processes.
Work in compliance with established Company policies and procedures.
Demonstrate uncompromising safety, integrity & commitment at all times.
Carry out any other reasonable requests as and when necessary to meet the varying demands of the business and satisfy customer needs.
Have or be willing to obtain the relevant level of security clearance and maintain the relevant level of clearance throughout your employment. Security clearance is a mandatory requirement for your role, failure to maintain will result in disciplinary action and potential dismissal.
