We are hiring talented project managers and senior project managers to join our Programme and Project Management (PPM) team in the Midlands. We have been involved in making a positive impact on the Midlands economy for over 50 years, with an outstanding portfolio of iconic and high-profile projects across the region, as well as supporting major national and international projects.
Our PPM Midlands team comprises over 50 project managers and form an integral part of over 900 staff based in Solihull, Nottingham and Birmingham, covering a wide range of technical disciplines and specialist skills.
We are a diverse group of project managers from across the region, UK and overseas, with professional experience that spans Arup’s offices across the globe. We are passionate about supporting the sustainable growth and enhancement of the Midlands and seek to apply that enthusiasm to contribute to a vibrant local business community.
We fulfill a wide variety of project management and advisory roles to support our clients, including strategic advisory services, business case development, management of multi-disciplinary projects, management of PMOs and wider procurement, stakeholder management and leading project delivery.
Our project managers are engaged in exciting projects across primary focus markets: Cities, Energy, Infrastructure. We have key roles in projects across the region and the country, including the Birmingham Commonwealth Games, HS2, East West Rail, Kenilworth School & Sixth Form, and Regional Hydrogen Roadmap for Derby City Council.
Our PPM Midlands team embraces our global aim to Shape a Better World, we strive to make all our projects contribute to the UNSDG’s. Our project managers work collaboratively in a mutually supportive team environment with a focus on team success. We encourage socially responsible initiatives and support projects that benefit the communities and businesses in our region.
We actively support our staff in their development as professionals and individuals, with dedicated training budgets to support continued professional learning and development. We encourage our team to obtain professional charterships, both through financial compensation for professional membership dues, and through dedicated champions who can advise and guide on chartership pathways.
We encourage a sense of community and engagement within our PPM Midlands team, through team socials, networking events, sporting events, and our digital coding clubs.
Our PPM Midlands team is growing and seeking project managers at all career levels to support ongoing work and ambitious growth plans. We are seeking project management professionals with relevant experience in areas such as:
We are seeking professionals who:
- Energy, particularly renewable energies
- Infrastructure, including highways, rail and water
- Science, Industry & Technology
- Have a relevant degree qualification in project management, engineering, or science
- Are chartered by a relevant professional body or interested in pursuing professional chartership
- Have experience and knowledge of project management and/or engineering consultancy
- Have demonstrable leadership, commercial awareness, and motivated to support project managers in their skills development
- Are a self-starter, client focused and skilled at developing relationships with a wide variety of professionals.
