Lumentum are looking for a Shift Process engineer based in Northamptonshire. This is a shift based role (24x5 operation, Sunday 10pm to Friday 10pm) rotating across all three shifts; early 6am-2pm, late 2pm-10pm and night 10pm to 6am.
Be available as first point of contact for all wafer fab process related issues.
Provide written handover of issues at end of shift
Responsible for reviewing and resolving process related wafer holds, assisting in smooth running of the fab.
Ensure swift release of material where possible and police application of holds.
Produce metrics on holds for your shift.
Oversight and co-ordination for tool qualification post maintenance activity.
Ensure swift re-qualification of tooling where possible.
Produce metrics on qualification activity for your shift.
Provide scrap and near miss event support.
Ensure swift triage of scrap and near miss events across wafer fab and epitaxy.
Support generation of scrap and near miss reports where required.
Generate and/or enact process deviations (DVs) where required, e.g. raise DVs (if appropriate) for out of spec. events, provide advice and support to manufacturing teams in event of non-standard work under DV.
Creating measurement macros for new products as the lots arrive at measurement tools.
Some tool ownership may be given, depending on experience.
An HNC or Degree in a semiconductor discipline and/or 2 years of directly related experience.
Strong analytical skills and problem solving abilities.
Ability to work with minimal supervision whilst ensuring that all tasks are completed.
Competent PC user (including the use of Microsoft Office).
Wafer fab cleanroom experience an advantage
Familiarity with 6sigma and similar methodologies would be an advantage.
Ability to work as a part of a team to achieve targets whilst utilising a variety of communication skills.
Experience of computer controlled semiconductor processing equipment or vacuum systems an advantage.
Knowledge of manufacturing execution systems (MES) such as PROMIS would be an advantage, though full training will be provided.
