Do you want to work in a role where you help to manage the development of our Drainage and Wastewater Management Plan (DWMP) and the capital programme for PR24 and beyond? If so, we have a great position for you as a Sewerage Planning Engineer!
As a Sewerage Planning Engineer, you will be developing and helping to implement our DWMP investment plan to deliver drainage and wastewater improvements, ensuring that it meets our long-term objectives, statutory obligations and includes cost-beneficial investments.
Within the role you will:
assist in the preparation of the sewerage regulatory submissions to Ofwat, including DWMP and PR24
assist with programme appraisal of the DWMP using our new investment management tool
assist in the production of infiltration reduction plans and drainage strategies
closely liaise with engineering and operational teams, including our modelling and development teams
liaise with external stakeholders related to sewerage infrastructure status, flood risk and partnership working to assist councils with their Surface Water Management Plans and other strategies
share and develop our DWMP and drainage strategies with the public, Environment Agency and other risk management authorities
liaise with customers, residents and parish councils to explain flood risks and our plans
What do you need?
To be successful in this busy role, you will need great analytical, verbal communication and interpersonal skills to enable highly effective working, both internally and externally. As well as working effectively across all levels of our business, you may need to write to, phone and meet customers on site or at public meetings, for example liaising with residential customers and attending parish council meetings.
In addition, we are looking for:
a relevant degree (not necessarily in engineering)
good computing and data entry skills
firm decision-making skills with a consistent approach
the ability to work effectively on multiple tasks
awareness of the design of sewerage systems and computer hydraulic modelling would be desirable but not essential.
