Team & Challenges:
It’s an exciting opportunity to join a team that builds and supports both the iOS and Android consumer apps at Argos. Working on both Android and iOS provides a unique challenge. Our software is primarily used by Customers and covers the full spectrum of services offered by Argos.
Cucumber, Selenium, Java, Kotlin, Swift, Objective C, Jenkins, Git, Jira, Confluence, Slack.
We integrate and build with Jenkins with the team managing their own release process. We keep track of everything using Git, Jira & Confluence. You don’t need experience with everything on this list!
About the role:
As a Test Engineer for one of our consumer apps teams you’ll be responsible for the end to end testing of our Customer facing Sainsbury’s Argos’s applications.
Beyond testing our Argos apps, you will be working alongside teams in charge of a wide variety of technology such as the Till Free Smartshop and one of the largest groceries platforms in the UK. We are also excited to launch several other customer-facing projects such as Chop Chop – our one-hour delivery platform, our Sainsbury’s single sign-on and our bespoke Food-to-Order platform.
While there will be elements of manual testing, our future is firmly focused on automation to ensure that we can test and release at pace; delighting both our customers and business users.
What we’re looking for:
Experience of working on mobile app architectures and mobile apps testing
An understanding of the importance of end to end testing
BDD automation (i.e. Cucumber or similar automation framework experience)
Rest/JSON API endpoints
Pragmatic & able to promote positive change in technology and processes
Java or Kotlin
Objective C and Swift
Experience with mocking external services to test failure scenarios
An eye for great customer service and delivery
Enjoy working on end-to-end stories in a multi-disciplinary team
