We are currently looking for an approachable and committed Intermediate Thermal Modelling & Low Carbon Engineer, to join our Building Energy Performance Group. In this role, you'll be responsible for:
Interpreting energy-related systems found in architectural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing drawings and specifications.
Developing building energy and thermal models and cost-benefit analyses to aid in high performance design and to assess compliance with BREEAM / LEED rating systems, projects aspirations towards zero carbon targets.
Undertaking energy conversion calculations for Part L2A, Part L1A of the building regulations, and EPC Compliance check using thermal modelling " training will be offered to become CIBSE Certified Assessor (LCEA).
Understanding building service systems and assist in the selection of plant to reduce energy consumption.
Supporting ongoing energy audits for ESOS, ISO 50001 and Post Occupancy Evaluation (POE) and Building Performance Evaluation (BPE) studies to optimize building; operations, and support clients achieve their CO2 reduction targets.
Providing regular feedback of progress to the team leader to assist in the management of delivery and ensure that project delivery meets the client's objectives and requirements in terms of the agreed scope of works, timescales and budgets.
Ensuring that all work is carried out in full compliance with the Company's Integrated Management System (IMS).
Liaising with team members, clients and other disciplines to work together to deliver the project.
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess:
A strong engineering background and experience in energy modelling.
An understanding of BMS and IEMS systems, HVAC controls, metering and integrated systems design.
Ability to work with engineers from all disciplines and other professionals to optimise and develop bespoke, 'value for money' and innovative designs.
Understanding of Health and Safety within the workplace.
Familiarity with BREEAM / HQM / Code for Sustainable Homes / LEED / WELL (desirable).
Basic understanding in coding in machine learning software and parametric modelling (desirable).
Have experience in carrying out detailed calculation and whole building simulations for prediction of operational energy based on CIBSE TM54 / NABERS schemes (desirable).
?Professional Membership and Qualifications:
Degree (preferably Masters) in relevant engineering discipline.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Good report writing skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills
The ability to communicate fluently and positively with other team members and to produce reports in clear English.
Ability to organise and prioritise own workload to ensure that timescales are met and support junior members of the team.
Good problem solving/contingency planning skills with the ability to find quick, innovative and practical solutions.

Salary range: £30,000 to £33,000 per annum dependant on experience.
