WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
As a Project Engineer, you will be getting involved in the design & integration of equipment at the system and sub-system levels. This role can be varied and may expose you to lots of different vehicles and systems.
This is a demanding role, requiring close liaison between various Engineering teams. The role requires a high level of attention to detail and personal accountability in order to ensure that the project is successful.
Significant drive and energy, strong planning skills, and the ability to deliver a diverse programme to demanding time, target cost and quality requirements are essential attributes to succeed.
The candidate must be a team player who is prepared to work with a multi-site engineering team within RBSL and the customer community. The individual will be required to work across geographical and cultural divides to draw together a comprehensive engineering capability that will derive balanced system solutions.
Position Duties and Responsibilities
Delivery of defined small projects/work packages and project tasks of varying complexity and risk to time, cost and targets in compliance with the programme
Working with commercial representatives ensuring that all projects/work packages and project tasks satisfy all programme commercial requirements
Strategic customer and stakeholder management externally and internally within the business
Contribute to the process of capturing, analysing, implementing and validating requirements for small projects/work packages and project tasks
Contribute to the leadership, management and governance of the overall project by being accountable for various projects/work packages and project tasks meeting specified requirements
Able to contribute to the development of a project risk and opportunity plan, can identify project risks for projects/work packages/tasks undertaken
Provides input to delivery programme baselines and contributes to the operation of project control processes (requirements capture, planning, cost, risk, trend analysis and change control)
Ensure all project documentation is maintained to the required standards within the management system.
WHAT QUALIFICATIONS YOU SHOULD HAVE
Degree level of education, or an equivalent level of competence with appropriate training
Working towards professional accreditation as a Chartered / Incorporated Engineer or Project Management Professional
Competent with Microsoft applications, and SAP data management tool
Strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential
Experience of product lifecycle management tools/configuration management, e.g. DEF STAN 05-057, would be highly desirable.
