Duties / Responsibilities (Including Objectives of the role):
Lotus Cars is an iconic leader in the global sports car category, presently on a path of growth and development. To support this growth, we are looking for a Lead Engineer to become responsible for Lotus' component development in the infotainment function with innovation in this area maintaining and enhancing Lotus' future position in the sports car category.
Duties and responsibilities of this role involve:
Taking ownership for the infotainment components development for all markets.
Creating and maintaining Lotus infotainment components to ensure development follows defined project plan and development processes.
Development of hardware, software and mechanical functionality, whilst being legally and commercially compliant to fulfill customer, company and stakeholder expectations for different markets.
Lead infotainment component related technical discussion for vehicle programs, working collaboratively with Chief Engineers and Project Leaders to achieve solutions whilst meeting time, cost, performance and functionality requirements.
Working collaboratively with respective departments, engineers and suppliers to problem solve and achieve solutions to encountered problems, taking accountability for the resolution.
Work with strategic partners and suppliers to develop technically compliant hardware/software solutions which fulfill project plans, effectively communicating timings and critical paths.
Lead discussions with component suppliers regarding commercial, technical, factory, aftermarket, language, packaging related subjects. Sync info with other stakeholders in infotainment team. Communicating information between suppliers and the Lotus team.
Review and approve hardware specification and PV/DV test plan & result.
Review and approve hardware circuit board design, review and approve component PV/DV test plan and result.
Undertaking both the supervision and delivery of detailed tuning, verification and testing plans for developing new hardware.
Create and maintain change requests during development process.
Work with other Lotus engineering functions and departments to best communicate and ultimately achieve desired outcomes.
Support and act as mentor to colleagues to achieve individual, departmental and corporate goals.
Qualifications and Experience (Essential & Desirable criteria)
It is essential that candidates have a strong background within an automotive infotainment component /supplier as team leader or node owner. It would further be seen as an advantage for candidates to have project leader experience in an infotainment domain.
It is expected that candidates will possess Bachelor’s degree in electronic engineering and have extensive experience in automotive infotainment with a rich knowledge in areas of:
Infotainment domain technical solution
infotainment domain feature and content
Automotive Electrical communication
Unique market requirement
System design in distributed system
It is expected that candidates will similarly have proven knowledge in the areas of:
Electronic Printed Circuit Board design
Software programming and architecture
Electrical signal/bus communication
Video, radio, sound processing
Experience of circuit board defect analysis, thermal strategy, optical reflection analysis, infotainment issue analysis is desirable.
