About the Team:
Tesco Mobile is the UK’s largest mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) with over 5 million customers. Tesco Mobile is a joint venture between 2 of the biggest brands in the country and the combination of Tesco’s leading retail estate and O2’s network with 99% UK population coverage provides Tesco Mobile with a unique opportunity.
The Data Platforms team is the fulcrum point for data within Tesco Mobile, sourcing data from multiple sources and making available to various teams/systems/third parties around the business for BI / CRM and various BSS systems.
QlikView is the reporting tool of choice and the team provides a comprehensive suite of dashboards providing feature-rich content to key stakeholders in the business.
Will be passionate about creating effective and compelling data visualisations and how they can transform the way a business uses data to gain insight
Will help shape and deliver on the roadmap of dashboard development according to agreed prioritisation with stakeholders, take part in planning / allocating resource and monitoring progress
Will have strong engagement skills and be able to forge working relationships quickly with key stakeholders
Will actively promote dashboards as the primary reporting resource within the business
Will work within the existing development framework of the Data Platforms team in order to design/create datasets that support new/enhanced dashboard requirements as well as legacy reporting
Will work within the development framework of the Data Platforms team to create innovative dashboard solutions for key stakeholders in the business
Will work alongside the Analytics & BI team members to gather requirements and encourage the forging of close working relationships between them and stakeholders to ensure the dashboards are providing relevant and easy to access information
Will help / mentor Analytics & BI team members with all aspects of QlikView development so that they become more proficient / confident with the tool
Will create and maintain documented datasets as a way of ensuring consistency through reuse of centralised logic
Will pursue a policy of continuous development / improvement
Will be responsible for helping to ensure a consistent look and feel
Skills & experience:
QlikView development experience
Extensive SQL Server T-SQL scripting
Some knowledge of DDL and database maintenance
Long history of working with data to provide reporting and insight
Long track record of data visualisation
Ability to resolve data-related problems
Ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical people, effectively and constructively
Ability to collaborate and work effectively in a team
