Job Title: Monitoring and Telemetry Engineer

As part of an Information Technology (IT) Service Management Improvement Programme, you will support in implementing a centralised and standardised monitoring and visualisation solutions across all of the End User Computing division.
As a Monitoring and Telemetry Engineer you will be responsible for engineering the whole Monitoring and Telemetry portfolio for End User technologies, including Application and Infrastructure monitoring, Real Time Media Quality monitoring and Synthetic Testing.

Your key responsibilities
Work closely with the Monitoring and Telemetry Product Manager to understand the requirements while striving towards 100% monitoring coverage
Work closely with the domain architect to ensure solutions are delivered in a robust, sustainable way in accordance with technology strategy
Technical design of new solutions applying best practice software design techniques and collaborating with other engineers and Subject Matter Experts where required
Evaluate market-leading, best-in-class solutions for the entire Monitoring lifecycle, from data collection through real-time streaming and into visualisation and automation
Manage a team of junior engineers to implement and maintain the monitoring solution
Your skills and experience
Good knowledge in implementation of ITRS Geneos or other top tier monitoring or visualisation solutions
Experience with an Agile development team (SCRUM and Kanban beneficial)
Exceptional understanding of monitoring and alerting principals
A good level of knowledge of some of the following would be beneficial: Splunk (Basic Search Programming Language for Search/ Reporting, dashboards, IT Service Intelligence), LINUX/ Unix, Wintel, Knowledge of Simple Network Management Protocol, Management Information Base Building, Java
