To robustly deliver the engineering wire harness design in line with the required timing, resolving all engineering issues in a cost and weight efficient manner.
Responsibility to design appropriate wire harnesses for the vehicle, within the limitations of customer design requirements and Lear design & manufacturing requirements.
Working with the EDS Engineering team to ensure the design of the wire harness, reporting to the Engineering Project Leader.
List of Responsibilities:
Project responsibility for the allocated harnesses and sub-components.
Deliver an accurate and robust design for allocated harnesses.
Design using DFMEA principles to ensure robust design, maintaining specific harness DMFEA for life of development.
Manage and resolve engineering issues on harness in a timely manner.
Ensure accurate translation of design into 2D print.
Preparing Engineering Change proposals.
Take Responsibility to ensure harness design meets customer design requirements e.g. design manual, Electrical & Electronic Distribution System (EEDS) guidelines, SDS.
Deliver a cost & weight efficient design for allocated harness.
Issue, Change Management & Release processes.
Quality tools such as APQP, DFMEA, 8D
Ability to read and use engineering specifications & drawings
CAD tool understanding – CATIA V5/V6, Circuit design tools
Methodical in approach
Be an effective communicator

Demonstrated problem solving ability
Strong sense of ownership of complete system solution from collection of input data via design review and FMEA to schematic release and build support
Degree or equivalent in suitable engineering discipline
