LexisNexis Risk Solutions is seeking a full stack Software Engineer with a background in PHP and interest in working in a technically varied project to join our Cardiff based development team. This position will work within an agile development team delivering a solution based on a diverse range of technologies including Docker, PHP7, HPCC and Laravel.

As a full stack Software Engineer, you will be a vital member of our team working with a diverse range of technologies (such as PHP7, Laravel, Docker, Vuejs and our distributed data platform called HPCC). You will enjoy working in a friendly environment and benefit from our investment in staff.
Contributing to the design of new features and solutions
Developing and delivering features across the full stack (including use of modern PHP frameworks, front-end frameworks, HPCC and other tools)
Contributing to the quality assurance effort, including use of test automation tools (such as Cucumber) and Continuous Integration tools (such as Jenkins)
Working closely with the product owner and project management to deliver timely products and enhancements
We will help you learn how to use our big data platform - HPCC - through a combination of training courses, self-learning and peer support
Essential Skills and Attributes
Passionate collaborator with a focus on what is best for the team (both immediate and the wider group)
Strong and enthusiastic technologist, able to demonstrate a broad technical knowledge
PHP development skills using modern PHP frameworks (such as Zend, Laravel or Lumen)
Comfortable using Linux distributions such as CentOS or Ubuntu via the command line
Understanding of Kanban or Scrum and enthusiasm to be part of an agile development team
Understanding of modern development Build, Test and Deployment pipelines
Experience working with relational databases such as MySQL
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Awareness of how to interact with APIs
Clear focus on the customer
Experience of querying distributed data platforms and data warehouses
Experience of TDD and BDD
Active participation in the development community
Experience of front-end frameworks, such as Vuejs
An interest in modern software development, including Docker and Continuous Delivery
A good understanding of SOA and API concepts, including security
A strong working knowledge of application development tools and methodologies
