We currently have an opportunity for a Mechanical Design Engineer in Kircaldy.
General Summary of the role:
Metro-cell and Steel products production and R&D engineering work. Development of mechanical cabinets and structures with electrical fit out for the Telecoms industry
Duties & Responsibilities
Plans and conducts work requiring judgment in the evaluation, selection and adaptation or modification of standard techniques, procedures and criteria.
Responsible for the overall mechanical structural and thermal design of new and existing RF products.
Meeting project cost and development timelines.
Demonstrates an innovative, dynamic hands on approach to problem solving and be able to designs through product qualification to manufacture.
Provide technical support to our Production, Quality and Product Line departments.
Acting as a key member/ technical leader within a project team with responsibility for coordinating the work of drafters, technicians and other personnel.
Works on complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires in-depth evaluation of various factors.
Applies research to planning, design and development of mechanical systems, instruments and/or controls.
Conducts feasibility studies and tests new modified designs.
Independently determines and develops approaches to solutions;
Include demonstrated competencies and physical, mental, & interpersonal skills.
Must be able to read drawings and understand dimensioning.
Technical report writing
Good communication skill in English
Familiar with SAP,SolidWorks, AutoCAD
Knowledge of structural and thermal analysis ideally using Ansys products
Preferred - some knowledge of fabricated, cast, extruded and machined component design.
